Meet Kelly
Kelly is an experienced educator with over 20 years of teaching in Ontario’s public school system, including more than a decade specializing in special education. Throughout her career, Kelly has worked with students across a wide range of abilities and exceptionalities, including Autism, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Dyscalculia, and Dyslexia. Her expertise in inclusive education is supported by a Special Education Specialist certification and a Master’s Degree in Education, with a focus on meeting the diverse needs of learners.
Kelly’s passion lies in helping young learner achieve success in both literacy and math. She is trained in research-based strategies for reading and writing instruction, including Orton-Gillingham and Elevate Your Classroom Science of Reading methods, which are especially effective for struggling readers and children with learning challenges. Her work extends beyond traditional classroom teaching, focusing on fostering a love of learning in each child through creative, hands-on approaches.
In addition to her literacy expertise, Kelly holds a certification in Math Therapy, trained by Vanessa Vakharia, also known as The Math Guru. She has a certificate in instruction for students with Dyscalculia. She is dedicated to helping students overcome math anxiety, building their confidence through fun, project-based math activities that turn abstract concepts into real-world problem-solving.
Kelly's approach is grounded in the belief that every child can learn and thrive when given the right support and environment. Whether it's boosting reading confidence or turning math into an exciting adventure, Kelly empowers her students to develop the skills they need for long-term success.
